A great experience
We are a little past the half way point of the trip and everything is great so far. I was able to try on a traditional Japanese clothing called a yukata. I always thought that traditional Japanese clothing will be a lot thicker. However, when I tried on the yukata, it wasn't as thick as I thought. It was basically very cool and breezy. While we were trying on the yukata, we also had a takoyaki party. We were able to make our own takoyaki. It was a nice experience making our own because we can tailor it to our own taste. There were different takoyaki stations set up with different meat that we can add. There were octopuses, sausages, plums, and kimchi. After the party, we went to a nearby park and set off some fireworks. I really enjoyed this time because it was my first time setting off fireworks. The following day, we got to learn about traditional Japanese pharmacy. The place we went to was a Kampo pharmacy. Kampo pharmcy is very similar to Chinese medicine in which they use a lot of herbs and roots. We got to learn about a common Kampo medication called kakkon-to. Kakkon-to was commonly used for cold, gastrointestinal pain, and muscle soreness. The next day we got to enjoy onsen (hot spring). The hot spring was amazing! It was awkward at first because we had to take everything off before going into the bath, but after awhile, it wasn't as bad because everyone was in the same boat. It will only be awkward if you make it awkward. The hot spring itself was very relaxing. For dinner, I got to finally try Kobe beef. I always heard that Kobe beef will melt in our mouth's like butter. However, it wasn't what I expected. It did melt in my mouth but it wasn't what I have imagined. Some pieces were very chewy and some were delicious. Overall, I enjoy my Kobe beef, it was pricey but I enjoy being able to try it for the first time. I will definitely recommend trying this!
