Another Day Another Adventure

Everyday we do so much from the time we wake up to the time we go to sleep. A couple of days ago we went to Arima to go into the oldest hot springs in Japan. It was definitely a new experience for me but I'm glad I did it. The water in the hot springs were really hot being 42 degrees C and 44 degrees C. Having many tattoos, I did receive a couple dirty looks especially from the elder Japanese men. This is something I expected since traditionally Japanese people do not like tattoos. Later in the day we all tried Kobe beef. It was delicious and well worth it. In the evening my pen pal took me up to the top of a mountain that overlooked Kobe. The view at night of the city was amazing. The next day we went to Osaka with faculty from the University of Osaka. They took us to see the Osaka Castle and out to lunch and dinner. They were very generous and fun people who enjoyed our company as well.

So far the trip has been great and busy. Everyday we get to see something new and enjoy laughs throughout the entire day. The japanese people are very helpful and direct us when we get lost. I would say the only downside of the trip is traveling in such a big group. Many times other students want to randomly stop which holds up the whole group. A lot of time is wasted by stopping constantly and we ended up missing out on Sake taste testing because of it, something I was looking forward to on this trip. I understand everyone has their reason to stop but it does get annoying always having to wait around on people.
