Things that Only Happen in Japan!

Ice cream, ice cream, and ice cream!! There are so many different ice cream flavors in Japan that I make it a mission to try them all during my stay in Japan. From the typical flavor like matcha, mango, pineapple ice cream to tofu and SAKE ice cream (which is my favorite), these are the best treats to try during the most humid and hot day of the summer.

Trash cans are one of the hardest things to find.  Japan is one of the cleanest countries that I have ever been to. The streets are almost spotlessly clean and surpringlsy there are barely any trash bins.  I find myself carrying bottles or trash in my backpack most of the time because it was difficult finding a trash can anywhere besides the convenience stores and vending machines. Most Japanese people buy their drinks at the vending machines and throw their drinks at the same spot.

Politenes. Japanese people are probably one of the most polite people in the workd! From the clerks at the 7/11 to a random stranger on the street. Everyone is very nice and patience, and wiling to help you when you ask them. Even when they don't speak English. We were trying to look for a restaurant near Sannomiya to eat and a Japanese couple led us almost all the way there.

Horse meat sashimi. Yes this is a real thing and people do eat horse meat here. Passed by one of the  stands in Kobe and it looked very casual. I am pretty adventurous when it comes to food but I will pass this. No thanks!

No one eats on the street or the subway (maybe that's why many Japan streets are very clean. You can find a lot of street food in Japan but people tend to eat  right next to the food places they find. Maybe that's why Japanese streets are very clean!
