Arrival in Tokyo

This is my first time visiting Japan. I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this international travel program as it will contribute to my professional development  to better understand and appreciate cultural diversity, and develop cultural competency. I believe this experience will positively impact how I practice as a healthcare professional in the future. I am specifically interested in natural herbal medicine and how the health systems differs here in Japan compare to the U.S. Professionally, this is what I am looking forward to the most. 

Personally, I'm excited to meet my penpals!!! to try all kinds of local dishes!!! to learn more about the culture and to take pictures in a Kimono!!! :)

I am currently in Japan with my mom, and both of us today, met up with our long lost friends (over 10 years) separately in Tokyo. I would say that I am most concerned about getting around the city and the country. The transportation is very well constructed and mapped out, but it is very confusing for first timers! We almost couldn't find each other today.

I look forward to meet up with our group in just a few days, and I'm excited to start our professional  experience in Japan!
